We're building the trusted front door for aging in place.
Most older adults want to stay home. Most families don't know where to start. We built Better Years to change that.
Better Years exists because aging in place — staying in your own home as you get older — is the goal for the vast majority of older adults. But it's also something most people are underprepared for.
When a fall happens, or when a parent's doctor mentions "fall risk," or when someone realizes they're struggling on the stairs, families suddenly need to understand a complicated landscape: home safety products, modification contractors, medical guidance, and more.
We built Better Years to be the first place people come when they need to make that transition from "thinking about it" to "doing something about it."
Our approach
What we are — and what we're not
We are:
- An educational resource for aging-in-place decisions
- A curated product source for home safety equipment
- A light intake layer for people who may later need modification help
We are not:
- A medical provider or source of medical advice
- A licensed home inspector or code compliance service
- A general contractor or contractor referral service
- A substitute for professional evaluation when one is needed
Our values
How we approach the work
Clarity over complexity
We write for real people making real decisions, not for search engines or to fill pages.
Credibility is earned
Every content claim is sourced. Our reviewers are credentialed, named, and linked.
For families, not institutions
We write for adult children, older adults, and caregivers — not discharge planners or facility managers.
Calm, not clinical
Aging in place is a personal, often emotional decision. We meet people where they are.
